About Me

I am a curator, writer, researcher, and performer devoted to supporting experimental film and artists’ cinema. I currently live in Amsterdam, pursuing an MA in Preservation & Presentation of the Moving Image at the University of Amsterdam, but consider Portland, Oregon home base. Since Fall 2008, I have been a member and subsequent Co-Director (2011) of Cinema Project, a curatorial collective that programs artists’ moving-image work and marginalized cinema in a variety of venues in Portland, Oregon.  In that capacity I have curated and coordinated dozens of film and video screenings and public events with the desire to create a thoughtful and exploratory experience for both the artists and audiences. A frequent collaborator for PICA’s Time Based Arts festival, I have produced single-channel screenings as well as multimedia installations and performances on behalf of Cinema Project. My independent curatorial projects have been presented at the Northwest Film Center in Portland, at BOZAR in Brussels, Belgium, Anthology Film Archives in New York City, and online through the Echo Park Film Center’s Marvelous Movie Mondays blog. In 2014, I was awarded the Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts Curatorial Fellowship, allowing me to research artist-run film labs in France, Germany, and Belgium. For four years, I held the position of Education Programs Manager at the Northwest Film Center. I am also an occasional guest lecturer on experimental film at Portland State University. My previous educational degrees include a BA in Film Production and History from UC San Diego, and an MA in Cinema Studies from NYU Tisch School of the Arts.
